Karting North East is one of the ‘classic’ outdoor venues and should be on everyone’s list of circuits to race on. The track has been extended over the years to a full 1200 metres and boasts a billiard-table smooth surface and a wide range of challenging corners.
Only the weather will spoil your fun as this is Sunderland after all! Expect it to be a bit windy but on fine days it is THE place to race. It is also floodlit so the action goes on until 21:00hrs and the friendly staff are on hand to show you the ropes.
Quad bikes are available for hire and the venue also has a motorcycle scrambling track for owner/riders.

Junior Karting (8 – 15 years)
Induction Session
This session consists of half an hour's training and tuition followed by approximately half an hour's track time. Drivers will initially follow the instructor, being shown the racing lines at a controlled speed, and will then go out for a second session, putting the theory into practice. Cost: £27.00 per person.

How to find the circuit:
From the A19 take the Durham Road southbound towards Houghton-Le-Spring and turn left at the petrol station. At the top of the road turn right into Hangman’s Lane and the track is just on your right.
